Zinc–5 % Aluminum-Mischmetal Alloy-Coated Steel Core Wire is composed of a steel wire coated with a protective layer of a zinc and aluminum alloy.

This zinc + alu alloy coating has two functions: First it can provide superior durability and corrosion resistance in even the most severe outdoor conditions. Secondly, it helps to reduce the possibility of breakage and wearing over time, making it an ideal solution for long-term outdoor applications.
